When I was in high school, Winston-Salem, North Carolina was not a hotbed of entertainment for the young adult demographic. Thus many young males with freshly printed driver's licenses would turn to 'tuning' as a hobby. I learned a lot about how cars work and how to squeeze extra performance out of a factory configuration with minimal effort.
I inherited my mother's 1994 Accord (I asked for a Camaro RS) and thus I had a long ways to go to make it sportier. I won't bore you with the details, so here's a picture from its prime.

I was without a car my first two years of college, which was probably for the best. The last two years were fraught with problems. The most interesting being the gang of professional thieves that ripped out all of my stereo equipment twice in a nine month period, despite my best efforts to thwart them. By the time I graduated I was ready for a car that was designed to be driven.

Eventually I needed a more practical sports car, though I took it to a new level by taking up motorcycling!
